Treatment
If the partner has problem with producing sperms or there are no sperm in the ejaculated semen, it may be possible to extract sperm from the surgical method. We use needle to extract sperms from either Testis or Epididymis. The procedure known as percutaneous epididymal sperm aspiration (PESA), if we extract sperms from epididymis or if it is from testicle, in a procedure known as testicular sperm aspiration (TESA). This will usually be done under a local anaesthetic.
If these techniques don’t yield enough sperms, we opt for testicular sperm extraction (TESE)where in the a biopsy of testicular tissue with few tubules. This will usually be carried out under general anaesthetic.
Micro TESE; this is preferred method of sperm extraction with good yield as it is done and good magnification.
Usually, we prefer doing the sperm recovery well in advance and freezing the sperm before the woman is scheduled for IVF.
Electroejaculation is another option in Anejaculation. This is done under general anesthesia.
