Prevalence of hypothyroidism in subfertile group and its association with PCOS, Reduced ovarian reserves, and Idiopathic infertility we do recommend routine screening for Thyroid dysfunctions. Since Thyroid disorders do have maternal and foetal implications, it is better to know and treat it if required.
Hypothyroidism may be implicated in menstrual and ovulation disorders leading on to infertility.
Recurrent pregnancy loss because of reduced progesterone levels secondary to ovulatory dysfunction and/or immune impact may be taken care of, if prompt treatment for hypothyroidism is initiated in time.
